Empowering New Hunters: SCI -Gateway Partnership Expands GRHA Programs for Youth, Veterans, Women, and First Responders

Great Rivers Habitat Alliance is proud to announce aa major new investment in hunter education and access across our region. The Gateway Area Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI) has committed $15,000 over the next three years to support GRHA’s mission—through a partnership that will help bring more people into the outdoors and strengthen the future of conservation.
Through this partnership, Gateway Area Chapter SCI will help GRHA fund clinics at the Jay and Carolyn Henges Wetlands Education and Conservation Center designed specifically for veterans, first responders, women, and first-time hunters. These clinics and hunts will provide safe, structured, and welcoming opportunities for individuals who may face barriers to entering the field. This is conservation in action -- two organizations working together to ensure that the traditions of hunting and stewardship remain strong for generations to come.
Participants will gain essential skills in firearm safety, waterfowl and upland hunting techniques, habitat stewardship, and the conservation principles that sustain Missouri’s natural resources.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Gateway Area Chapter SCI leadership team: Tom Williams, Susan Nelson, Mark Johnson, David Stokes, Sheldon Alver, Neal Feazel, Jeremy Evans, John Wilkerson. We are grateful for SCI's investment in our mission and in the next generation of hunters and conservation advocates.
We look forward to welcoming new hunters into the field and continuing to grow this impactful partnership.
