Winchester and GRHA Expand Conservation Partnership to Grow the Next Generation of Hunters

The partnership between Winchester Ammunition and GRHA continues to grow, strengthening a shared commitment to conservation, education, and the future of hunting in the St. Louis region and beyond. For more than 150 years, Winchester—The American Legend—has stood as a national leader in wildlife conservation, responsible shooting practices, and preserving our hunting heritage. Their legacy is woven into countless conservation efforts across North America, including right here at the Confluence.
This year, Winchester is deepening its support for GRHA’s mission by donating 50 cases of non‑toxic shot for upcoming youth, first‑time hunter, veteran, women, and first‑responder hunts at the Jay and Carolyn Henges Wetlands Education and Conservation Center. This contribution directly addresses one of the biggest barriers for new hunters: the gear‑intensive nature of waterfowl and wingshooting. Thanks to Winchester—and additional support from Top Tier Outdoors along with Benelli, Beretta, and Franchi—participants will have access to ammunition, loaner shotguns, and waders, removing obstacles and opening doors for new hunters to experience the outdoors.
GRHA is preparing a full slate of hunts for the 2026–27 season, with expectations of 500–800 participants joining us for dove and waterfowl opportunities. These hunts are designed to be welcoming, educational, and conservation‑minded, ensuring that every participant gains both skills and a deeper appreciation for Missouri’s natural resources.
We welcome additional gear sponsorships to help equip even more new hunters. Please reach out to Mike Checkett at mcheckett@grha.org if you or your organization would like to contribute.
