GRHA Shares Exciting Progress with St. Peters Board of Aldermen

On Thursday, May 28, GRHA presented an update on the Jay and Carolyn Henges Wetlands Education and Conservation Center to the St. Peters Board of Aldermen. GRHA Board members Jim Blair and Chris Hyams delivered a strong presentation sharing the vision and outlining the Center’s first‑year programs and the ongoing partnership with St. Charles County Parks.

GRHA was honored to present an update on the Jay and Carolyn Henges Wetlands Education and Conservation Center. The presentation also highlighted the Center’s first year of programs, its growing impact.

The presentation was warmly received, with deep appreciation of the early impacts from Mayor Len Pagano and Alderwoman Judy Bateman. Mayor Pagano, who attended our spring press conference and property tour with St. Charles County, spoke highly of the wetlands, the thousands of ducks on site, and the promise of the Center’s educational mission.

This meeting was an important opportunity to strengthen relationships with St. Peters leadership and continue building regional support for conservation education and our mission. GRHA will host a dedicated tour for the Mayor, Aldermen, and St. Peters staff later this summer to deepen collaboration and showcase ongoing development at the Center.

The Jay and Carolyn Henges Wetlands Education and Conservation Center represents a major step forward in expanding public access to wetlands education, wildlife habitat, and hands‑on conservation experiences. Our many partnership’s, particularly with the Missouri Department of Conservation and St. Charles County Parks has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life, and we look forward to continued cooperation as the Center grows. More background on the project can be found in our earlier announcement: St. Charles Partnership – New Educational Center to Be Built.
