A Decade of Partnership: GRHA/DU 10th Anniversary Gala Recap  

On October 17, 2024, Ducks Unlimited (DU) and Great Rivers Habitat Alliance (GRHA) hosted their 10th Anniversary Partnership Gala, bringing together more than 550 supporters to celebrate a decade of conservation success. It was an unforgettable evening of community, commitment, and purpose.

Guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner, followed by spirited bidding on an array of unique silent and live auction items, including exclusive hunting experiences and one-of-a-kind artwork. The energy was high as attendees rallied to support DU and GRHA’s shared mission of habitat conservation.

A major highlight of the evening was the announcement of GRHA’s purchase of the Whistling Wings property from DU and a ceremonial agreement signing. This 785-acre site, meticulously run by Mo Buder since 1958 and owned by DU, will remain protected and a haven for waterfowl, becoming GRHA’s second conservation and education area. The property will offer vital opportunities for habitat preservation, education, public hunting, and outdoor learning.

The gala was a powerful reminder of the enduring partnership between DU and GRHA. Both organizations remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting the critical habitats of the Confluence, where the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois Rivers meet. Together, they are ensuring that this unique landscape will thrive for generations to come.
