Jay and Carolyn Henges Wetland Education & Conservation Center Campaign

Exciting progress continues at the Henges Center as GRHA builds innovative conservation, education, and research partnerships. These collaborations will provide curriculum opportunities, expand wetland management into the critical spring migration period, and maximize the property’s benefit to wildlife.

The Center is transforming into a world-class destination for habitat restoration, outdoor education, and community engagement. This vision depends on your generosity.

In 2026 we kick off the Wings for the Future campaign with a goal of $11 million to complete the property acquisition from Ducks Unlimited and fund needed restoration and infrastructure improvements. Thanks to lead gifts from the Jay Henges Charitable Trust, Missouri Department of Conservation, and The Nature Conservancy, we have already raised more than $7 million toward that goal (63%).

To keep momentum and the vision of the Jay and Carolynn Henges Wetlands Education and Conservation Center moving forward, GRHA must raise an additional $4 million in the next two years. Opportunities for naming range from $25,000-$1,000,000, underwriting, and annual giving are also available, with recognition levels ranging from $1,000 to $50,000.  We will launch the public phase in 2026 and look forward to bringing you more information and success stories.
